The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute Health Promotion Research (LBIHPR) analyses the relations between organisations and health in late modern societies, which are characterised by an increasing predominance of organisations within all areas of life. In this context, organisations are understood as relevant environments for health, disease and quality of life. Against this background, the research program, which has a background in health and organisational theory, focuses on conditions and possibilities for health promotion in expert organisations.
The research program which is set for seven years cooperates with the Universities of Vienna, Bielefeld and Edinburgh as well as with the Austrian Federal Ministries for Health and Education, the Association of Social Insurance Carriers, the Gesundheit Österreich GmbH via the Fonds Gesundes Österreich, the City of Vienna, Geschäftsgruppe Gesundheit und Soziales, and combines innovative applied science with basic research.
